B) I love you very much, and you’re stuck with your fitness goals.

The master footage of this shoot will be available, wholly unedited for you to get the impact of what it’s like to live with me or be “fam”… and believe me when I say…. I have not seen a consultation as thorough and as intrusive as what I did on this shoot.

Please watch it… listen from where I’m standing as I conduct what I’m now coining: “Palangi Home Invasions”

PALANGI PROTEIN SHAKE

Hey guys! So here we are, it’s already Tuesday, May 18th, 2010… and summer is around the corner (of course, with today’s rain, “Summer” may hardly be in sight for you… but it IS coming to a town, and perhaps an overweight body, NEAR YOU!)

And who doesn’t like to look and feel great AS summer arrives? Nobody!

This is the time of year when everyone starts to pick up the ole exercise a notch… but… usually…. it doesn’t even help them change their body markedly at all.

Know why?

PROTEIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most people SEVERELY under-do have protein in their diet.

Even me.

I’m friggin busy, ok? And… even as a “trainer”… I too, get so busy, I rarely ever have the luxury of preparing, or having, the PERFECT MEAL (meal with just the right mix of protein, carbs, and healthy fats.)

Protein supplementation plays an important role in your overall fitness goals.

My experience is, most people, especially women, do not get enough protein.

Men on the other hand, tend to gravitate towards protein.. but they don’t always make the best choices and wind up getting tons of saturated fat in their diets, too.

As a general rule, a respected guideline is to consume 1gram of protein for every pound bodyweight. (of course, you cannot only restrict yourself to protein 24/7, the idea here is, if you’re a 150 pound person, 150 grams of protein, split up over several meals, or opportunities to “protein dose” — as in the case of a protein shake — should do it.)

Most people THINK they’re getting an addequate amount of protein.

Stacie Dibona did…. she’s participating in my Six Week Body Transformation Challenge… and once she started to MONITOR (as is demanded in my Challenge) her protein intake, she was shocked!

Here it is in her own words:

Hi Scott,
I just wanted to let you know how much last nights coaching call helped me.  I was keeping track of my food on the live strong website, but waited until Sunday to transfer it to your journal pages.  Well, what a wake up call!  I thought I was eating so well, but turns out I had too many carbs, not enough protein and too much sodium.  So today I made sure I transferred all my food info this evening and I am going to stick to the list of foods you gave us last night and eat the same thing for a week.  This should be a good week.  You have really motivated me to keep on track with my food and exercise and I thank you for that!  I am learning so much!
See you in class,
Stacie

So there ya have it… the Palangi 6-Week Body Transformation WORKS! (but this is not a plug for that program, you already missed the registration date, I’m just promoting how effective the first week of it is, in getting you RELATED TO REALITY as to how your personal habits of thought and ACTION correalate to what best serves you)

Onward.

So you got your protein number, right? (body weight times 1 gram protein)

Then you divide that up into a few consumption session during the day (I used to call them meals, but “consumption session” keeps my eyeball on the reality that food is supposed to fuel us…. Not be a source of pleasure. But hey, right time, right place here with all this stuff okay?)

But like with all things, this 1gram per pound of body weight is only a guideline – you need to “test” what works for you (meaning, what makes you feel good from a digestive standpoint, and what keeps you lean, too). And the reason I mention “… unless you’re obese” is because if you had 100 pound of extra body fat…. You don’t need extra protein to support that fat because fat is JUST SITTING THERE (waiting to be used) and it is NOT metabolically active.

Perhaps you could consider this however:

When I want to go up in weight (if I’m already somewhat lean, okay?) say from 170 to 180… I’ll add more protein to my daily intake.

If you weight 150 and want to be 120…. Gobbling up 150 grams of protein might not be a good idea… but 120 grams (your goal weight equivalent), now that might be more reasonable because you’re now taking in less calories, which, when try to lean-up, I think is a good idea.

I have experimented with different methods of protein supplementation and I find the good ole fashioned protein shake to be of tremendous value because you can measure out eat macronutrients and create the perfect meal supplementation.

I use MFC Performance Bio-Whey PROTEIN POWDER! I could carry on about how yummy it is, how it has a digestive enzyme built into  it (never gives me stomach troubles) and how my muscles feel amazingly hard when I’m training hard, and how my actual training is enhanced. Seriously, I don’t have stock in this product, nor do I have joint venture with them…. It’s just a  great product, and I’ve had em all!

I use Old Fashioned Quaker Oats (the slow cooking kind), and organic peanut butter from Organica in Northvale, NJ (same shopping center as Shop Rite).

I also use the World’s Best Tasting Water from “de Wet” purified water, in Norwood, NJ and that’s it!

This video show how I make my shake.

Enjoy!

~SP

Now that you’ve bought your protein…. here’s how you make the shake (my method)

Rockland and Bergen Woman age 22 to 54 Transform Their Entire Body!

Hey Gang! Master Palangi here…

So as I’m teaching the morning  class today… I notice that Rosalie Lafauci looks amazing.

And she’s 54.

Not that 54 year-olds aren’t typically attractive, fit, and vibrant… but with Rosalie, I just don’t remember her looking so healthy a year ago (she’s been doing Palangi Kickboxing for exactly one year on June 1st.)

So I mention to her during the class: “Rosalie… you have a great body!”

After saying “Why thank you”, she mentioned something worth talking about:

She said, “I didn’t actually lose bodyweithgt…. I transformed how my body IS”.

“For example, I went down one jean size. I can wear more fashionable clothes because of new muscle definition… and I’m no longer letahrgic, I love the way I feel from doing this class”.

That was when all the other hands went up, and we started filming.

I said, “Okay, how many of you have seen a noticeable, measurable, dramatic PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE since training here.

100% of the class raised their hands.

Then I asked… who’s willing to talk about it on camera.

The result is the people talking about their transformation below.

Enjoy, and remember…. ACTION is what moves the world… NOT THEORY AND RESEARCH!

If you’re still thinking about starting classes with me, watch one the people below, and click on that image to the right that say “Click here for web specials”.

Enjoy and have an awesome day!

OH! And if you’re in my six week challenge…. I WILL FLIP IF YOU BLOW IT TODAY! BE STRONG… BE HEALTHY… BE DISCIPPLINED… AND, MOST OF ALL BE HAPPY ON PURPOSE! : )

All the best,

You can do Palangi Kickboxing even if you’re pregnant!

SHERI DESTRO 7 MONTHS PREGO!

Hey guys… sorry if I’m overdoing it with extended “Mothers Day” moments… but this morning, as I was teaching my Kickboxing class, I noticed Sheri D. from Norwood, NJ looking kinda “skinny” for a pregnant woman.

So during one of the water breaks, I went over to check in…

“Hey Sheri! Please catch me up on your pregnancy, how many months are you now?”

“Seven! And I feel amazing! It’s all because of this class!” Sheri said.

“How many months do you plan to keep at it?” I asked.

“I dunno, but I’ve been training for this pregnancy and even if the Doctor says to cut back, it’s been worth it… I absolutely feel great!”

That’s it guys and gals… thought I’d share.

By the way, also attached is a picture of Oliva K. from Blauvelt. She trained in my Palangi Kickboxing class right up until the ninth month!

Hope you found this inspiring.

OLIVIA KOHN NINE MONTHS PREGO!!

Remember… “Doctors” don’t really know… exactly what Palangi Kickboxing is all about.

There’s no fighting (unless you want to make a career of it, which, in that case, I can support you fully with separate training) and there’s no crazy jumping, or unorganized “contact” with other individuals.

Just you….

Me…

Your classmates…

And one hour of rock-solid, heart-pounding, breathtaking, body-pumping minutes!

Just think, if you’re gonna be “eating for two”…. may as well be training for two as well!

And get this… we have a woman name Barbara Zanetti, she is a trainer, a mom, a professional, and…. get this… she trained with my coach, Master Trainer Christopher Esposito of Coral Spring, FL (this guys classes ARE SICKLY INTENSE) and she did so… right up until her NINTH MONTH! And her child turned out healthy as a horse!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Happy Mothers Day all!

For Mother’s Day, I surprised my Mom by sending her a MOM’S PEARLS OF WISDOM”, from 1-800-flowers.

A wisdom basket is simply an arrangement of flowers, that I guess, resembles something you’d see on a wise persons desk or table.

No better person, or Mom, to receive than Carol Palangi. (My Amazing Momma!)

When my Mom called shortly after receiving her flowers, she commented, “You’re good kid…. how’d you ever remember ‘Gardenia’s?”

I truthfully said, “Uhm, actually Mom, I’m not that good… I just saw all the arrangements, and thought, “Wisdom Arrangement?, oh yeah! That’s for my Mom for sure!”

So we got to talking, and it went like this:

“Well mom, it’s like this: I have a life that few men get to enjoy….

I’m healthy…

I love absolutely love what I do…

I love where I live…

I love my clients…

I love who I get to be when I wake up in the morning…

I even love the problems that I get to solve…

and… even when I (rarely) get down in the dumps… I love snapping myself out of it, and getting back on the proverbial horse, and remembering what my life is for:

MY LIFE IS FOR OTHER PEOPLE.”

I could hear my moms tears when she said, “Thank you so much hun, that’s so nice for you to say… when are you coming to visit?” lol!

And it’s 100% true.

When I think of what it takes to be the kind of mom that produces kids… kids who become adults like me, I think of this:

HOW TO BE A GREAT MOM…

1) Don’t let your kids quit stuff. (teach em that it’ll become a negative cycle. Sit with them until they “get it”, tell em they can quit after they’ve finished an agreement, but not before. Don’t theorize about “one day you’ll realize… etc” (kids hate logic), simply say “The Palangi’s are not quitters. We don’t quit. That’s what makes us different than the neighbors, and what makes you distinct from other kids. I request you finish what you start.” and be done with it. The silent power from this “matter-of-fact” way of being will stick with your kids for life, or at least much longer than an “aww honey, it’s okay… here’s a piece of cheese and a cookie, now, tell me why all the teachers are meanines…” etc.)

2) Don’t meddle in their affairs. (Watch em close… but STOP putting your “hands on the ball”. Let em figure it out. Let em screw up; observe, ask “what you get from all that?” then hug em, and find the humor in pitfalls. If you’re too tempted to be in your kids bidnezz… get a hobby so they don’t think you’re a whacko.)

3) BE A MOM OF ACTION! (I rarely ever saw my mom being a slacker… a gossiper… or an un-powerful woman — EVER!  I’m sure there were times when Momma Palangi had doubts; how we’d make it; where we’d be; what was next… and so on… but she never let on. My mom ALWAYS behaved in a way where I knew things were just the way they should be, and that ACTION was always the antidote to “circumstances.”)

4) Listen more…. talk less. My mom does, and when I was a kid, did “talk” to me and/or at me… but what stands out for me now, is how much I witnessed her LISTENING to other people (wish I got this from her, but I’m working on it) MY MOTHER NEVER INTERRUPTED PEOPLE! This has got to be why she gets along with all different types of people, is held in high regard in her community, her career, and in all the little networks in her life. Momma P does in fact have her “opinions”… but she’ll get yours, long before you know hers. And Mom does that because she is a masterful listener.

5) Speak ONLY good of people. This includes: Family members, friends, people of all walks, races, and creed, and do all this… especially when everyone else is doing the opposite! (My mom never bashed people. Hindsight, there were times when labeling, judging, and the typical human behaviors of drama-filled soccer moms were justifiable. But my mom ALWAYS took the high road!

I’m convinced the above 5 points  is why I have a deep respect for ALL women… regardless of how many of you ladies refuse to do all the push-ups, squats, or crunches, (LOL!) or even when you gals emotionally eat your way out of life’s little challenges!

At all times… my mom’s voice is saying “You be nice to girls, honey!”

Hope you enjoyed, have an awesome MOTHERS DAY!

From Kicking Cancer… to Kicking Butt!

Hey Team! Here’s a heartfelt testimonial from one of our members of whom I am so so so so proud of.

Thank you Laura, for being courageous enough to share your life with us… your sharing inspires others of what’s possible.

Master Palangi

As someone who has always been healthy and strong, you can imagine my utter shock and dismay that at 39 I found out I had cancer and had to undergo surgery.

Two, actually. They were traumatic and very difficult. But the worst of all of it, was the overwhelming sense of betrayal. My body, this body that was so strong and so…well healthy, had failed!

Looking back, the crises point for me was coming around after the second surgery without even the strength to hold a glass of water to my mouth. And when you’re that weak and that ill, people look at you differently, with such pity in their eyes, you almost can’t endure it.

During the following weeks, I can’t say that things got any easier. When your body suffers from something like this, all you spend you time doing is sleeping because frankly your body is fighting so hard to heal that there is no energy left. You’re too weak to do anything else. I was too weak to go to work, too weak to even hold my little toddler daughter. I couldn’t cook my husband dinner or even just do the dishes. Laundry? Out of the question. Every morning I would wake up, force myself to brush my teeth and take a shower. As soon as I managed to dry off, I was back in bed for a two hour nap just to recover from the effort. Those simple joys, the “stop and smell the roses” joys were for everyone else going about and living their lives while I lingered miserably in bed watching stupefying daytime TV.

Once in awhile I would wake up in the middle of the night and think anxiously to myself,

“Is this what it’s going to be like from now on? Is this my life now?”

I would drag myself up and go in and look upon my little girl while she was sleeping, or reach for the comfort of my slumbering husband to help me chase those dark thoughts off, but they were truly ever present in the back of my mind. Especially when I was alone during the day.

Those were dark and terrible days, indeed.

One afternoon, a rare occasion found me out of the house to creep to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription.

I saw in the window of a store I passed by a yellow flier. Nothing fancy, but big bold letters screamed, “Fat? Just kickbox….Palangi Kickboxing.”

An unfortunate result of my particular condition had destroyed my metabolism and in 6 months I had put on over 20 pounds. So, well yeah, I had gotten very fat (when you factor in the 20 I had meant to lose for the last 5 years…). I grabbed that little brochure, stuffed it in my bag and went home. I called the number that night and left a message.

Within an hour, Master Scott called me back. I liked what I heard and I liked Master Scott’s positive enthusiasm for (it seemed) just about everything.

I breathlessly waited for the green lights from the doctors that I needed to get started.

A follow up appointment  a couple weeks later delivered the news that I was cancer free. “Congratulations on your recovery!” was what I heard over the next few weeks and although I was truly grateful for the grace that spared me a much different fate, I couldn’t help but think, “Recovery? This? This isn’t recovery….look at me, I’m a fucking wreck! Fat, weak and exhausted…all the damn time. How is this recovery?” Looking in the mirror in the morning left me simply horrified. I didn’t even recognize my own face! And the evening of each day found me collapsing into bed a 9pm with barely the energy to kiss my family goodnight.

This was NOT my vision of recovery. I knew in my bones that if I wanted my life back, my full and fulfilling life, I still had fighting to do.

Once my doctor said I could begin “light exercise” I threw caution to the wind and went to Palangi Kickboxing class. Frankly, I barely survived the first class, or the second. I couldn’t jump rope for more than 15 seconds at a clip and I barely eeked out 2 pushups in a row. But I loved every minute of it. It’s structure, it’s speed and it’s discipline. The classmembers are kind and open and Master Scott drives you to give everything you have. Everyone works damn hard and even though I left each class shaky in the knees, soaked through with sweat and gasping for air…

I felt a sense of deep achievement for just sticking with it. And, unnoticed by me, steadily, things began to change….

Flash forward two months and see me running our household errands on a sunny Saturday. In particular, my last stop. See me at the grocery store picking up our lengthly list of supplies. See me pull into my driveway with the kid out cold in the back and without a thought, lift her from her car seat. She wakes up in my arms and won’t let me put her down and I stand on my lawn and think, “Now what? I have got to get those groceries in the house.”

And see me carry each packed full bag up the front stoop and into the house with my daughter dozing in my left  arm(did I mention she’s 32 pounds and asleep, that’s dead weight) and the groceries slung on the right (another 10 – 15 pounds per bag or so) and six trips later I don’t even have a hitch in my breath or tremble in my arm or even a bead of sweat on my forehead!!  It wasn’t until the last trip that it even dawned on me what I was doing…and how strong I had to be to do it!!!

It was at that moment that I stood struck silent, hugging my daughter  and thinking… “This is recovery. I am recovered!”

So, I thanked God for delivering me from my illness, and I thanked my friends and family for supporting me through it and I called Master Scott to Thank him for coaching me and to tell him this story and what Palangi Kickboxing has done for me.

In the two and half months now since I joined Palangi Kickboxing I have lost 15 pounds and my BMI dropped from over 30 to 23. I’ve lost a total of 8 inches just about everywhere and just this week managed to do 10 REAL down to the ground pushups in a row without collapsing.

I can tear ass up the stairs and I can stay up until 2am. I can chase my kid down the block, dig a trench and wrestle with my husband. I am cooking up a storm and the laundry is never a day old. Not to mention I work a solid 50 hours a week in a demanding job. I’m back to being myself, my real self. And it’s wonderful!

Palangi Kickboxing was (and is) a core component to this recovery. Master Scott’s coaching and training drove me to develop the strength and endurance I needed to reclaim my life.

Thank you Master Scott, and see you in class.

With gratitude,

Laura Cooper

Velocity

Hey guys!

You know how I’ve recently been hung-up the power of the word, “Velocity”, and how by getting it’s meaning can serve as background energy for us to COMPLETE the things we START?

Well, Dom Menfra, from out night class, is a thinking persons person, and check out what he gets from this VELOCITY principle.

See you in class… keep thinking…. keep doing… and KEEP TRAINING!

Master Palangi

From: Dom  Menfra

Palangi Kickboxing CIT (Certified Instructor in Training)

Recently, Master Palangi started using the term “velocity” in class.  He recounted a story about how an individual in his past used the word velocity and had an impact in his life.

I thought it was very interesting that Master Palangi decided to use the term “velocity” and not “speed”.

When he instructed us to find a partner or to bring out the heavy bags with *velocity*, that meant something special to me.

Why?

For those of you that remember your high school or college level science classes, you’ll understand that velocity is a vector.  For the rest of you, forgot the scientific jargon and just comprehend that in order to completely define an object’s *velocity*, you need to describe its speed AND its direction.

Take that to the next level and consider that in order to define your own *velocity*, you need to evaluate not only how fast you’re going, but in what direction and to what end.  Be sure that whatever you do in your life, you do it with *velocity*, with speed AND with a purpose (direction).  Know that you can build yourself up or break yourself down with velocity, depending on your direction…

I’m sure at some point, you’ve seen a sports car go flying by and thought, wow, that car is FAST.  Great, but where’s it going?  Is it going to be wrapped around a tree 5 seconds from now, or go careening off a bridge in 10?

Or is it going to get the driver to work in time to make a critical presentation and get a promotion?

Thanks for reading,

Dom Menafra ~ your dedicated classmate.

You Only THINK You’re Fat

Hey Gang!

Master Palangi here to introduce to you our very first guest author!  Sarah Greenberg has been part of our community for some time now and she’s got some interesting things to say about food.  Every time she sees me with a protein drink she rolls her eyes!  Remember that weekly message about the power of language?  Well this girl got what I was talking about and she ran with it!

Enjoy…

Are you familiar with the phrase, “I think, therefore I am”?

Whatever the philosopher Rene Descartes meant when he wrote that all those years ago has been debated ever since. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here to tell you that it’s true. At least in this situation!

How many times have you said to yourself or whoever was so lucky to be with you at the time, “Man, I am FAT!” How many thousands upon THOUSANDS of times have you heard your sister, brother, aunts, uncles, friends, even random passers-by say “Oh my God I am so fat!” It’s pretty ubiquitous, eh? Especially in this shining beacon of beauty and big breasts, our beloved America. This is a tough place to live in if you feel fat, and an ever tougher place to live in if you plan to stay thin. We have many things here in America, one of them is an overabundance of food or, more specifically, edible commodities. But I digress.

How many of you noticed that I said to “feel fat” and not to “be fat”? That’s no accident, folks. These verbs cause our brains to act and react in very different ways, not all of them beneficial. Allow me explain with the following example:

I moved to China for 14 months for no good reason. My vague plans included such things as: find a job, find an apartment, become a SPONGE. Not for the faint of heart! One of the more fascinating things I learned in China was the language; Mandarin Chinese is simultaneously blunt and quite delicate. One turn of phrase that hit me like a truck was this: instead of saying “I am fat,” like we do in English, in Mandarin you say “I have fat.” WOAH!

Take a minute to mull that over. Imagine, if instead of feeling the permanency, the literal and figurative weight of saying “I AM fat,” you could merely state, “I HAVE fat”? REVELATION!!

The key word here is am, a form of to be. To be! We actually define ourselves, our very existence, as FAT. It’s as if that’s all we are, just fat. We identify ourselves by our weight and appearance, and we give others license to do the same. In the West, we even go so far as to moralize weight: fat is wrong, fat is bad. If you are fat, you must be lazy, or you must be sick, or less capable, or out of control, unattractive, or even unlovable. My fellow Americans, this is pretty shameful. We prematurely judge others by their appearance, and we make it difficult for ourselves to take pride in our bodies, in all of those other wonderful things that we are. We feel shame, we feel guilt, we feel like life would be so different and perfect, if only we were thin.

What a sham!

The word “fat” in Chinese does not lend itself a slew of moral and personal inadequacies. By the very nature of their language, the Chinese do not define themselves by flub; they merely and shamelessly acknowledge that yes, they are a bit overweight (if such is the case). Literally, they say, “I have a little fat.” And it’s totally OKAY. Now, I’m sure a chubby Chinese is not thrilled when they can’t fit into their clothes, but for goodness sake, they don’t go around feeling like a failed human being either. I remember listening to a group of Chinese women discussing their weight; it was so refreshing! One of the women was heavier than the others, and when she said as much, it was no big deal! It didn’t prompt her friends to coo and try to deny the facts (“Oh you are so not fat!”), or for her to look ashamed of herself. Why should she be? She just had a little fat! It wasn’t some moral pronouncement, she didn’t hate herself for it, and her friends looked like they couldn’t care less; she simply stated the obvious. She might as well have said, “I have long hair.” It was awesome.

To have is very different than to be. While we cannot go ahead and change the English language and American culture, we can change the way we perceive ourselves. Don’t get me wrong folks, being overweight is not ideal and being obese is downright dangerous, but let’s not add insult to injury. I know for a fact that of the many reasons for weight gain, low self-esteem is at the top of the list. When we are feeling down or rotten, a lot of us reach for the “wrong” things; you can easily lose yourself in a cycle of depression and weight gain. It’s just like everyone’s favorite fictional Scottish character said, “I eat because I’m unhappy, and I’m unhappy because I eat.” Truer words were never spoken.

Ladies and gentlemen, be KIND to yourselves. Refrain from saying nasty things about your body, refrain from putting nasty things IN your body. Forget protein bars and diet pills – self-respect is the most powerful weight loss supplement around.

Certified Health Counselor, Sarah Greenberg, writes the Enjoy Eating blog on her website, www.weenjoyeating.com. She works with men and women who are ready to get off diets, into their clothes, and on with their lives.

THE POWER OF G.W.M.

Awesome job in class last night! (That is, if you attended) But if you didn’t attend… please read this post anyways!

Here’s why:

Every month, I launch a new sequence of class formats… nothing really changes as far as the overall framework of the class… just certain exercises.

But here’s why I wanna publicly thank last nights attendees.

1) It was a good-sized class and we nailed every round, on time, and without confusion! (Awesome!)

2) You guys all “got” the chest-fly exercise that quickly bleeds into a killer bicep-curl sequence without having to change-out dumbbells (which can often lead to un-needed “downtime”) and YOU ALL DID IT WITH…

VELOCITY!

Which leads me to “Thank you #3″….

3) You guys all did a SUPERB, FLAWLESS, AND VISIBLE JOB at demonstrating the incredible power of VELOCITY (our word of the week… heck, maybe even of the month, if you guys keep it up!)

Lastly, over the weekend, I introduced you all to the power of:

G.W.M.

If you missed it…. GWM stands for:

GENERATE WHATS MISSING

In any relationship, organization, or… lets just say in any situation where “there” is agreed to be better than “here” (ie, thin vs. overweight…. energetic vs. apathetic… harmony vs. discontent) it is way, way, way too easy to notice who’s not doing this and that, and what should and shouldn’t be “so” etc.

The thing is gang….

Most people never get past the un-genius of IDENTIFYING WHAT’S MISSING (complaining).

Got that?

Listen closely: there’s absolutely no genius, no courage, no victory in that model of performance.

I want you to get with the possibility that when something’s “missing” in a situation… the very fact that it is YOU who’s noticing it…. there is a “calling” that’s happening…. a calling that you will unwittingly miss out on… and while missing…. you forfeit a possibility of massive REWARD!

This week, I invite you to take on: GWM.

I want you to GENERATE WHATS MISSING in your work, your play, your love, and your life.

When you take on GWM as a way of being… it short-circuit’s the unhappiness. It demonstrates true personal power to yourself. It inspires others to do the same. You feel great while stepping up to the challenge. And, finally, you will immediately launch yourself into a higher level of existence in your family, your workforce, your community, and ultimately your life.

Please, if you train with me… PLAY BIG.

GENERATE WHAT’S MISSING.

Hey…. please… before you “yeah butt” this request, TRY IT FIRST!

And… if you don’t “feel” like trying it…. or you don’t “believe” it will work…. guess what I ask?

Yep, I ask that you:

GENERATE WHATS MISSING!!

Best,

Master Scott Palangi

How To Hold the Hand Mitts

Many kickboxing programs only teach a “dance” style of kickboxing.

They require you (and it’s a real privilege, too, I feel) to learn certain skills that I learned from my masters.

I want to clarify something first, however:

I, have in the past, taken those sort of classes.

They are GREAT!

In fact, on my last vacay to L.A. I took a Billy Blanks Tae-Bo class and got my ass handed to me.

And I was in great shape mind you, too! (You shoulda seen it. They looked on my Guest Card…. googled me… and did the ole, “Everyone, we have a Master in the class from New York, the featured athlete on amazingkicks.com….” yada.

Trust me, as much as my ego loved the attention, I was cringing, wishing for privacy, wondering why I didn’t instead put “John Smith” “Burger Flipper” on the Guest Application at the front desk.

Master Billy Blanks runs a great class.

I’ve got mad respect for him, and he himself was not only a great inspiration when a was a lil kid competing in karate tournaments (yupp, he was a world champion, an amazing athlete, and still is), but he was also very cool to me when I taught right down the street from him here in Sherman Oaks California (This school is currently run by my peer and colleague Master Scott Lois).

But Palangi Kickboxing, as you know, is “different”.

I think of Palangi Kickboxing as a more “traditional” style of Kickboxing… kind of oldschool (but no punching each other in the face stuff, unless you’re training for a fight, and even then, if that’s the case, I’ll send your ambitious ass to my best teacher and best friend for 9 interesting years, UFC Lightweight Champion Matt “The Terror” Serra – I think I was supposed to be best man at his wedding… but he picked somebody else, adiup.)

We jump rope (or we try to)…

We hit targets (which is what this post is all about)…

And we hit heavy bags….

And we lift dumb-bells the way a traditional boxer would (in interval format)

The end result is a sharper mind (cuz you learn real SKILLS) and a harder body, because the class formats I’ve created are scientific in approach, and constantly create the proper training effect, even if you attend 7-days a week (which nobody does, except for me!)

This video show Alix Hunter doing a SUPERB job at holding mitts in a very casual, small, typical 10:15 am class.

Watch carefully, she’s amazing (the woman hitting the mitts is no slouch either, but I want you to watch this for MITT HOLDING instructional purposes only, okay?

All the best,

I love my life, and I love you all, please let me know if I can ever help in any way possible!
